HISTORY

St. Thomas girls inter college was founded in 1906 by ab missionary lady Ms. Nelson our primary basis for girls. Later on it was upgraded to an inter college. Great endeavors of Ms. Nelson and Ms. Warren culminated into wide spread of girl education in India after a long period of darkness.

It was started with 5 girls only. The five petals of our school logo symbolizes those 5 students who laid the stone for this prestigious institution.

The school logo is derived from the Jasmine flower planted in school premises. It is white and green in colour. Therefore the uniform of the school was adopted as white and green. The Jasmine creeper still blooms in the school and fill the atmosphere with it’s sweet fragrance.

Gradually the institution region reached his heights in late 50’s becoming High School and their after in to and Intermediate College. At present it is one of the best institution for girls in Meerut city having all the academics streams – Humanities, Science and Commerce.

It has been blessed with highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff.
The School was run under the guidance of Ms. Crowder and subsequently by Ms. Margiri Tinku, Ms. Z.K. Singh, Mrs. Saraswati Sharma(officiating), Ms. J. Jacob, Mrs. E. Abraham, Mrs L.J. Masih(officiating), Mrs. N.W. David and Mrs. A.K. Nathan. At present Mrs. S. Milka(officiating) is running this institution with great dedication and efficiency.

 

Facilities

The college is endowed with a good library, a well equipped Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab, Bio Lab, Home Science Lab, Music Room and NCC Room. We also have a facility of a power backup(generator), Clean Drinking Water, Play Ground and Canteen.
The school is having NCC and girls guiding since 80’s, to cultivate the facilities of Patriotism and National Integration among students.
